With minutes left before first bell, Talia races for Blackglass Lyceum to claim her scholarship seat, only to be stopped by her brother Joren, who reveals wardens are accusing him of stealing a sealed exam key. He presses a mysterious blackglass key into her hand and orders her to secure her place at the academy before trying to help him. As wardens close in and the bell rings, Talia is forced to run for the Lyceum, realizing admission is no longer just her chance to rise—it is now the only path to proving her brother was framed.
