Chapter 2: The Ledger Cost

Mina breaches the records annex under a tightening purge clock and learns the Haldor Freight Recovery Ledger was subject to a deliberate erasure order routed through Records, Legal, and Chair Control. Noor helps her pull the first usable chain, which exposes that Mina’s own name appears in the ledger’s sign-off field and that the record moved through an offline executive device associated with Adrian. Mina confronts Adrian in the service corridor, where he warns her the deletion was timed and inside-authorized before slipping her an authenticated deletion notice naming V. Rath as the signer. The chapter ends with Mina holding the proof and facing the hearing room as the board gathers, now knowing the ledger was scheduled to disappear before the session and that the room is waiting to see her fail.
